Early Voting runs Oct. 21st – Nov. 1st
Election Day is Nov. 5th
I am just an old farm boy from West Texas who raises cattle and goats. I love God, my family, my neighbors, and my nation. I am a veteran of the US Airforce where I served for over 10 years. Besides raising livestock, I have my own business building and repairing fence for Lubbock County residents. Whenever you see me, I will probably be wearing bib overalls. I don't even own a suit! When asked why I am running for this position, the answer is simple. I have watched myself and my neighbors beg for lower taxes, better roads, and increased safety. NOTHING has been done to address our concerns for the past 20 years. Finally, I decided to stop complaining and do something about it. It's time for a change. I am not a politician, I'm simply a person with the same concerns you have. We are all created equal. Let's make a difference this November!
With the implementation of the "Penny Tax" pushed this year by the current commissioner for our precinct, it would cost Lubbock County residents an extra $71 a year. That might not seem like much, but it adds up. If taxes were raised by a penny every year for the next 5 years, you would pay an additional $21 per year of your hard earned money to the county. Keeping the tax rate the same will save you and your family from giving up unnecessary funds. If elected as your commissioner, I will work to maintain the tax rate and even try to lower it.
Precinct 3 has consistently been the last precinct in Lubbock County to receive proper blading. Our roads are never crowned causing fences and properties to be ruined. This issue leads to severe flooding when it rains. Not only that, but roads in our precinct still have severe potholes from a snow storm in December 2018. These roads MUST be fixed for the safety of everyone.
It is essential for our sheriffs to be properly equipped so that they can protect our community and keep our families safe. As your commissioner, I will make sure proper funds are allocated to best equip our officers. Roads must also be fixed in order for our drivers to remain safe. There has also been word that the ambulance service in Idalou might be stopped. That is unacceptable. Commissioners must be proactive to make sure this doesn't happen. Now is the time to make our community as safe as it can be!
